Domingos Vaz, age 67, passed away in Providence, Rhode Island on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born on March 20, 1951 to Alzino Vaz and Alina Goncalves in Fogo, Cape Verde.
While in Cape Verde Domingos served in Força Armada and was teacher in Santo Antao and Fogo. In 1978 he moved to Pawtucket, RI where he worked at Triangle Wire until he retired.
Domingos enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and cheering for his favorite soccer team, Porto.
He was predeceased in death by his beloved daughter Carla Vaz. He is survived by his siblings Alberto Vaz, Bendavid Vaz, Olavo Vaz, Pedro Vaz, Isabel Vaz, Carlos Vaz, Guilherme Rodríguez, Luisa Texiera, Domingos Alves, Ernestina Vaz, Isabel Barron, Isabel DePina) and a host of siblings in Cape Verde and Portugal.
Domingos leaves behind his children Nelson Resendes, Eunice Vaz, Ernesto Rocha, Alberto "Fifa" Vaz, and Carina Vaz, 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends and family from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 15 at Keefe Funeral Home in Lincoln, RI and again on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 9:30 am at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus located at 99 Camp Street Providence, RI. Burial will follow graveside in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
